Formatting 2GB USB to FAT
print icon

updated 9/18/2024

2GB USB Drives for the MFD (EX5000/EX500/EX600), you will need to use a PC to format to FAT (Default), as FAT16 has been removed from most Operating System (OS) software. If you have FAT16 on your OS this may work for now, until your next OS update.
- insert the USB into the PC USB port
- Open the USB drive
- Right Click on the USB from the file folder on your task bar

If the above directions cannot be followed, insert the USB, chick Open.

After opening the USB, find the drive on the left side of the window pane, do not use the folder name at the top of the explorer window:

- Right Click on the file folder (see photo above)
- Select Format
-Change File System to FAT (Default) (picture below)
-Click Start

When the formatting is complete, press OK. The folder should close.

You can now download your Jepp Data to the freshly formatted USB.
