For pilots using a MAC are experiencing multiple issue when trying to upload the NavData.

Jeppesen has discovered the latest MAC OS from September (Sonoma 14.1) has disrupted files in the Entegra NavData.

Jeppesen is working on a fix.

Pilot must use a PC for the file transfers.

Here is an example of the errors:

1. The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

2.The update of the file Low Obstacles has failed for unexpected reasons.  This data was not updated.

3. The update of the file Low Obstacles has failed for unexpected reasons.  This data was not updated.

4. The update of the file Low Obstacles has failed for unexpected reasons.  This data was not updated.

5. The update of the file High Obstacles has failed for unexpected reasons.  This data was not updated.

6.  The update of the file High Obstacles has failed for unexpected reasons.  This data was not updated.

Pilot feedback: in order to mitigate the type of failure I had experienced. The solution, in short, is to create a bootable volume on my Mac’s SSD storage and to install MacOS Monterey in it. That’s the previous version of the MacOS, before Sonoma. Apparently JDM works correctly under Monterey, but not under Sonoma. I can boot my MacBook Pro into either Monterey, or Sonoma according to whether I need to update the EX5000 navdata, or not.
